I have been around Grizzly Peak Stables since 1970. I first taught western riding, and had a successful group of students showing western equitation, western pleasure and trail classes winning, in 1979, the Nor Cal Junior Western Pleasure Horse Show Champion. In 1975, I became interested in competitive trail riding (a combination of overnight camping and a 25 or 50 mile endurance ride) which is judged on horsemanship and on the horses' condition. I received a perfect 100 points in horsemanship. |

I organized the first Grizzly Peak Stables Horse Camp in 1983 and have had horse camp every year
since, with a remarkable safety record. The camps are run with distinct
supervision, thought and planning. The ponies and horses are well trained,
well taken care of and famous among our young graduates. I began riding Dressage in 1985 and it has become my passion.
I understand the movement of horses and the significant influence
the rider has on them.
In both painting and teaching the most important thing is comprehension and the ability to translate what you see. To develop a painting that captures the likeness of an animal or to develop a sensitive rider who correctly influences their horse requires the same extreme attention to detail. My paintings and my riding both have this attention to detail, confirmed by many years of experience in the equine world. |

Fidencio and his family live at the stables and help provide around the clock care for the horses boarded here. Fidencio does a superb job of maintaining the stalls and grounds daily and is a wonderful addition to Grizzly Peak Stables. Fidencio has been with the stables since 1998. |
